2008 LVCA Drag Racing Series

The 3rd drag racing event of the series was held at The Strip on Saturday evening, August 9, 2008. Sixteen Corvettes competed on a very warm and humid evening with the temperature still 100 degrees when eliminations started at 11:20 PM. The track allowed LVCA about 20 minutes of Corvette only time trial practice. During this initial and later time trial sessions we witnessed a heads up shootout between the big dog supercharged Vettes driven by Vic Heackley and Jim LeMar and Gil Nevarez’s hot twin turbo charged GTO.
